I was thinking it would be pretty easy to de populate the Vr circuit components and just install a second 4n25 opto isolator based circuit. However, I was thinking that given the nice square wave nature of the signal from the optical sensor, the Vr circuit adds a lot of unnecessary stuff.

I have been running the set up on the work bench driving the optical sensor with a portable drill and it seems to be working fine under the limited test conditions. Right now I have the tach signal coming in through the existing Megasquirt Vr circuit and the cam signal coming in through the optical isolator circuit.

I have wired up my MS2 V3 board to run sequential fuel and spark with MS2 Extra using a Mitsubishi style optical sensor (Yoshifab adaptor) with the high resolution Yoshifab trigger disc.
